Citadel of Namur

Renovation work is being carried out on a building within the historic fortified site of Namur Citadel, in Namur, Wallonia, Belgium. The project includes internal and external rendering, together with façade renovation. Monument Hainaut is the main contractor, with Altri Tempi acting as subcontractor and applicator.

The rendering system uses Chausable by Saint-Astier, a base coat render made with natural hydraulic lime (NHL). Its vapour-permeable properties make it suitable for use with historic masonry. The finish is provided by EcoMortar Finish TF 032, a finishing mortar coloured throughout in shade TF 032. Together, the lime-based base coat and the through-coloured finishing mortar form the render system for the façade renovation of this historic building at Namur Citadel.
