Leopold Park Ostend
In Leopold Park in Ostend, two historic arch bridges have been thoroughly restored. The elegant bridges on the north and south sides of the park now shine once again, thanks to the skilled craftsmanship of Renotec, a specialist in heritage restoration and infrastructure rehabilitation.
The bridge restoration was carried out in several stages. First, the entire supporting structure was rebuilt. The ironwork was treated with Brantho-Korrux Nitrofest in RAL 3009, providing a durable protective coating against rust and weathering. The original shape of the bridges was then carefully reconstructed using RC 730 Betonrep, a fine, fiber-reinforced, shrinkage-compensated concrete repair mortar ideal for structural restoration. Finally, a finishing layer of RC 221 was applied, a fiber-reinforced, waterproof cement coating that provides long-lasting protection for both concrete and masonry.
