Interior flooring Mechelen
In Conventstraat, Mechelen, a private residence designed by HAEYAERT VANDENBRANDE Architectuur was completed with a strong focus on detail and material selection. As part of this renovation project, the aim was to achieve an authentic flooring finish using characterful, porous tiles that complement the overall architectural concept.
For the tile joints, Kholao Joint 020 White was selected, a mineral jointing mortar suitable for aesthetic and durable applications. The product was applied in narrow joints between porous tiles, where pre-wetting of the surface played a key role in ensuring proper application. The result is a soft, natural-looking joint that blends seamlessly with the tile texture, creating a uniform and refined floor finish. This project highlights the importance of combining the right materials with skilled application to achieve a long-lasting and visually coherent result.
