INOFER-MALT Mechelen

The former industrial site INOFER/MALT is undergoing an ambitious transformation into a mixed-use development, combining residential units, offices, and various integrated amenities such as a bar, restaurant, and coworking space. The works are carried out by AB Eiffage, general contractor and specialist in large-scale renovation and development projects. The restoration works are entrusted to PIT Antwerp, also part of the Eiffage Group, known for its expertise in heritage restoration.

For the restoration and enhancement of the historic masonry, the teams selected RC Astivo (colour 119 and 135), a high-quality, pre-dosed binder based on natural hydraulic lime (NHL 3.5). This sustainable material ensures excellent breathability and a natural composition, allowing moisture to evaporate efficiently and minimizing salt migration damage.
