Eclectic building in Brussels

description

At Avenue de la Brabançonne 121 in Schaerbeek, an eclectic townhouse underwent a careful restoration in 2012. The façade, composed of yellow brick with white brick, limestone and simili-stone elements, now painted, is a fine example of early 20th-century Brussels architecture. The renovation works were carried out by AV Façade, a company specialized in façade restoration and heritage renovation.

During the restoration, the moulded edges and decorative bands were rebuilt using RC Calco, a high-quality lime paint for interior and exterior use. This breathable mineral coating provides an authentic appearance and long-lasting protection of the surface. The façade was then treated with RC 809 OG, a high-performance water-repellent treatment that provides long-term protection against moisture and pollution while preserving the wall’s natural breathability.
